More people are permanently relocating to Pecanwood Estate, says Seeff

Pecanwood Estate is a beautifully maintained upmarket, golf and lifestyle estate nestled on the southern banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam.

The Pecanwood Estate Homeowners Association was recently selected as a winner in the South African division of the African Property Awards. This prestigious award, judged by an independent panel of 80 industry experts, is focused on meeting criteria such as design, quality, service delivery, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability.

Louise Cawood, Seeff’s MD in Pecanwood, says the estate is home to an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Golf Course and has direct access to Pecanwood College, a private school offering grade 000 to Grade 12.

“Another one of Pecanwood’s drawcards is the fact that while the estate provides a tranquil haven away from the hustle and bustle of city life with a view of the magnificent Magaliesberg Mountains, it is still ideally located only 40 km away from Pretoria, 55 km from Sandton, 84 km from Rustenburg and 29 km from Lanseria Airport.

Cawood adds that while Hartbeespoort Dam has always been a popular weekend destination it is increasingly favoured by permanent residents as well.

“As a result of Pecanwood College opening in 2004 and the development of technology (Telkom Fibre infrastructure) allowing more people to have the privilege of working from home. The percentage of permanent residents has increased steadily from 40% to currently 60/65%”

The estate caters for those looking for a smaller lock up and go weekend or retirement home to the larger, impressive luxury villas and homes which offer more than enough space for the entire family. The estate comprises of approximately 800 full title properties and homes range in price from R2 million to R18 million”.

Cawood continues that the local Mountain Lake Shopping Centre caters to the basic requirements of residents, but that a new shopping centre – Islands Shopping Centre – is due to open in early 2019 which will offer a variety of additional retail outlets, fast food outlets and restaurants.

Cawood concludes that the development of the R512 – a Bakwena Platinum Corridor Concession project – which commenced at the beginning of 2018 will further add great value to the area as access to the N4 highway to Rustenburg, Pretoria and Botswana via the R512 will be quicker and safer for those wanting to commute to work in Rustenburg and Pretoria.
